New Settlement’s Student Success Center partnered with the Council for Economic Education to bring to our families an amazing presentation about financial aid and how to file their taxes! Over 60 families from 9th-12th grade attended these workshops that were offered in April and May as part of our Family Night Series. Counselors and families discussed how to receive financial aid for college and/or post-secondary programs, different ways to pay for college, how to file their taxes correctly and how to work as a team in this process. After the successful presentations in both English and Spanish, families were able to pick up their $35 Food Voucher outside of the Taft Educational Campus. We are looking forward to a continued partnership with the Council for Economic Education. Families can watch our presentation here!
