New Settlement was one of 20 organizations to partner with HEAF for the 6th annual College Decision Day. It was a magical and inspirational evening celebrating over 200 students from 20 organizations across NYC announcing their college selections. Highlights from our 6th Annual College Decision Day include:
- The CEO of the Apollo Theater, Jonelle Procope, giving a shout out to the incredible work of college access organizations.
- A performance by the purple-haired unicorn, singer Justine Skye–an up and coming performance artist–who the students know and follow on social media.
- ABC news anchor Ron Claiborne and an excited group of students from all parts of the City proudly announcing their college choices–cheering each other on!
- A rousing and electrifying speech by Laurie Cumbo, the NYC Council Majority Leader
