In spring 2017, a cohort of 20 high school students at CMSP 327 dedicated two days a week after school to investigate the use of the Alternative SchoolFood Menu at their school with Elma Relihan, a Teaching Artist from CUP (the Center for Urban Pedagogy). This project was coordinated by Community Food Action.
Students conducted research about NYC SchoolFood’s Alternative Menu, interviewing various experts in the field and their own Principal Ricci
At CMSP 327’s Family Fitness Fun Night event, students participating in the project assisted with serving parents and children healthy food and beverages. They also administered surveys to parents.
