New Settlement Apartments works directly and in partnership with the following Community School District 9 schools of the New York City Department of Education.
- CSMP 327 Middle School and High School, grades 6-12, located in our New Settlement Community Campus at 1501 Jerome Avenue;
- Mount Eden Children’s Academy, an elementary school grades K-5, also located in our New Settlement Community Campus;
- P.S. 294, an elementary school grades K-5 located at 1425 Walton Avenue;
- P.S. 311, an elementary school grades K-5 located at 1425 Walton Avenue;
- DreamYard Preparatory School, Bronx Collegiate Academy, Claremont International High School, and Bronx High School of Business, high schools located within the Taft Educational Complex at 240 East 172nd Street (on-site college counseling).
Additionally, New Settlement Apartments works directly with New York City Department of Education District 79 Pathways to Graduation Program to provide on-site HSE programming to young men and women in our Young Adult Opportunit Initiative.
Indirectly, New Settlement Apartments welcomes school children from CSD 9 and surrounding communities to our community center and our College Access Center at 1563 Walton Avenue. Elementary school age students from 12 surrounding schools attend our Multicultural After School Program at 1512 Townsend Avenue. Teens from the surrounding community participate in our Program for Girls and Young Women, Bronx Helpers and other programs.
