“The College Access Center has been a second family to me.   I received several full scholarship offers to college that I  believe would not have been possible without the help of my amazing counselor. Even after college, I have been in touch with staff at the Center and they have been instrumental in my law school application process.”

Helena’s family is from Ghana and she grew up in the Highbridge area of the Bronx. During her freshman year of high school, a friend recommended that she join the Center where she participated in our early college awareness program and our SAT class and received 1:1 college advising.  Helena attended Union College, where she was actively involved in campus life. Her many activities on campus include Student Ambassador, Orientation Coordinator, and Secretary of the Black Student Union.

Since graduating from college, Helena has continued to have diverse employment opportunities. She was a Planning Advisor at Goldstein Hall, a Finance Associate for the Hillary for America Campaign and a Political Consultant for the Esler Group. She is currently working as an Event Planner and in the process of applying to Law School.
