Evonny Escoto

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Fordham University
  • Current Employment: CSTEP Advisor, Fordham University

Evonny was born in the Dominican Republic, but immigrated to Bronx, New York with her family in the early 90’s. Watching her mother’s sacrifice in pursuit of a better life, Evonny was always encouraged to do well in school with college as the future goal. She believed that education was the key to achieving the “American Dream.” Evonny’s tenacity made her seek out the College Access Center for support and guidance in the college process. With the support of her college access counselor, Evonny enrolled at Fordham University where she majored in Sociology and minored in Environmental Policy. During her junior year at Fordham, Evonny returned to the College Access Center as an intern for the 9th and 10th grade College Explorers group and became the groups facilitator in her senior year. Being a part of the College Explorers program allowed Evonny to see how important it is to expose students to the prospect of college early on. Upon graduating from college, she worked full-time at the College Access Center as a community based college advisor and later as a college counselor at Bronx High School of Business. Currently, Evonny works as a CSTEP counselor at Fordham University.
