Nina Simone Stovel

Nina is a visionary leader with over a decade of experience driving systems change and advancing equity. At United Way of NYC, she led the $25M EEAPC Inclusive Curricular initiative, creating the Black Studies Curriculum for all NYC communities.

As the founder and former Executive Director of X.C.E.L, she empowered thousands of young people in Brooklyn. A native New Yorker and HBCU alum, she holds a BFA from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from NYU.

A dedicated mother, Nina is passionate about creating a better future for all children. She will continue to drive equity and advance systems change at New Settlement.
