Highlights From In My Words 2017-2018
Below are selected participant films – video portraits and visual poems created collaboratively by recent In My Words participants. Each ensemble of artists is divided into smaller groups of 4-6 young women. These groups name themselves and work together throughout the week to identify compelling questions, explore themes, and gravitate toward the issues of most concern – then they collectively write, film, edit, record and score their work. Some of their creations (theatrical scenes and spoken word) are performed live on the last day of each intensive, shared with the Southwest Bronx community, family and friends (see full performance recording from 2018). But many are presented as complete (short) video pieces. Enjoy!
