As part of her service at PS 294, Community Food Action’s FoodCorps member, July Alcantara de Martinez, leads lessons in the classroom that incorporate learning around cooking, nutrition, and gardening into the academic standards. On February 7th she led a lesson with 3rd and 4th graders about beets, with a math problem tied into it.
