The 170 (&#8220;one-seven-oh&#8221;) Farm Stand will be a new source of fresh, affordable local produce in the Mount Eden neighborhood, and\u00a0all items available to buy on the spot (market style). The 170 Farm Stand will operate on <strong>Wednesdays from 2:30 to 6:30pm starting on July 5th, at the corner of 170th Street and Townsend Avenue<\/strong>.Products will be sourced from small and mid-size farms\u00a0in the Northeast\u00a0region through\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenmarketco.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Greenmarket Co<\/a>. The types of produce that we sell from week to week will be guided by requests and interest from the community.\u00a0If it can be grown locally, we can try to get it for you! Check out this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grownyc.org\/greenmarket\/whatsavailable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chart<\/a> of what might be available at different times throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p>Our Culinary Educator staff\u00a0will lead Farmer&#8217;s Market for Kids programming for families during each farm stand day.\u00a0Payments accepted will include cash, credit\/debit, EBT, Health Bucks, WIC FMNP checks, and Senior FMNP checks.<\/p>\n<p>Community Food Action made the decision to operate the 170 Farm Stand independently so that we can best respond and adapt to community feedback. This project\u00a0was developed out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/site\/doh\/about\/press\/pr2016\/pr015-16.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#Not62 campaign<\/a>. From the Healthy Beverage Zone <a href=\"http:\/\/thebronxhbz.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>:Our goal in launching this borough-wide initiative is to build a movement to promote healthy beverage options for all who work, live, and visit the Bronx!<\/p>\n<p>The HBZ is an evidence-based project led by Union Community Health Center, Bronx Health REACH, and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene\u2019s Bronx Neighborhood Health Action Center to assist organizations interested in becoming a HBZ site in creating a supportive environment to promote healthy beverage options at their workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>Any Bronx worksite can join the Healthy Beverage Zone.
