Students are invited to apply for a scholarship award of up to $6,000, to be used toward college-related expenses, including tuition and room and board. Several awards will be made!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you meet the following guidelines, you are eligible\u2014and encouraged\u2014to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">You must have participated in one-on-one advising at New Settlement\u2019s College Access Center or the\u00a0 Taft Educational Campus (ex. Bronx High School of Business, Bronx Collegiate Academy, DreamYard Preparatory School, or Claremont International High School).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students in high school must be graduating seniors. Young adults may be high-school graduates or HSE candidates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">You must be planning to enter college as a first-time freshman (never attended college) in fall 2021 and to be enrolled full-time at a public or private four-year college\/university or a two-year college.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">You should only apply for this scholarship if you anticipate that your college expenses will not be fully covered by the federal, state, and institutional aid that you will receive.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>The scholarship application must be completed online<\/strong>. Before filling out the online application, please:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Print and review the PDF version of\u00a0\u00a0<a id=\"LPlnk303707\" href=\"https:\/\/newsettlement.org\/cac\/new-settlement-scholarship-for-excellence-2\/\">New Settlement&#8217;s Scholarship for Excellence<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Print and review the <a href=\"https:\/\/newsettlement.org\/cac\/scholarship-application-check-list-2\/\">Scholarship-Application-Check-List<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Prepare all of the necessary documents as the form cannot be saved and completed at another time.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>All completed application forms must be submitted and received by Friday, May 21st, 2021 by 11:59 pm.
